    Hi Stephanie,

I wanted to try out the Raw Egg protein you mentioned on your YouTube Video but wanted to ask what the amount for each ingredient should be. I know you mentioned 2-4 eggs for women but how much of the ceylon cinammon, spinach, kale etc.
Also, you mentioned cutting out BPC and replacing with Ceylon Cinnamon tea but I can’t seem to find that video. Can you provide more detail on that? Sorry, so many questions but I’m super excited and very interested in this lifestyle change.

    Ger

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Geralynn

1/4 tsp ceylon, 1-2 cups spinach, 1 cup kale.

As far as the BPC just do the exact same thing without the caffeine. If you do not want butter in tea you can used coconut oil and mct oil

hi i am mother 7 hearing kids, i am deaf an my husband is deaf too. i really want to know your youtube subtitle. i have been lose 80lb and build muscle and working on my ab because of 7 kids lol. i want to know why cant i have nuts?? i always ate 1/4 cup of almond and or macadamia. and 4 small stawberry in morning. let me know how do i lose my belly from my 7 kids my waist by belly button size is 34 but i want 28 let me know thanks

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Jeannine

Almonds are too high in carbs. All nuts also have mold as well as phytates so I encourage people to wait 6 weeks before introducing them back into your diet. Strawberries are also on the edge of having too many carbs per serving for newbies.

  • Niki Dimitriou

    Hello Stephanie,

I am a pescetarian and I’ve recently started making a greater effort to eat more protein(fish) and cut back on the carbs (so no rice, pasta, potatoes, etc), only to discover that it’s actually similar to a ketogenic diet.
I’ve got a few questions for you please; I know that it’s probably best to avoid fruit but are raspberries/blueberries/blackberries ‘allowed’ as they are one of the low carb-fruits out there?
Also, I usually have a light coconut yoghurt as a snack, is that wise?
And last but not least, I’m Mediterranean and I love olives and I know olive oil is high in fat.. should I keep eating them or try to avoid?

    Thank you very much,
    Niki

  • Adam Winlaw

Hi, do you add spices to your cooking ? like garlic etc?? Im about to start this diet on suggestion of a PT and am grateful for your detailed advice.

Hi Stephanie! I’m a full time college student, about to turn 38 (I’m a late bloomer), and have been living ketogenically off and on for the past 15 years or so. Last year I gained over 55 lbs. due to an injury leading to inactivity, mass amounts of stress, yada yada. I have been back on the bandwagon since December but my body just doesn’t seem to be responding as it did in the past, weight-wise (I lose weight SUPER quickly when eating right and exercising) nor feeling as young as I was feeling. I have my mother eating the same way I am and she lost 35 lbs. Yay for Mum! I’m rededicating myself after seeing your videos on youtube today. You’re quite fabulous and have the knowledge and wisdom to back it up! My question is this: Are frozen vegetables and fruits ok? Since I’m a college student on a crazy limited income, frozen veggies (organic) are more cost effective for me since they’re not being wasted. Frozen broccoli, cauliflower, peas (even though they’re higher in carbs), some kale and spinach is mostly what I’m referring to. I don’t eat a lot of fruits, mainly fresh raspberries, but love the occasional frozen blueberries. Thoughts/concerns?

    Hi Stephanie,

I am a 27 year old male from the netherlands. I saw some of your vids and you have inspired me to do the diet. After 3 weeks I lost most of my belly fat and my energy levels are so much greater. Everyday I am still learning about it but the principals are so easy to understand and the results just to great to ignore! Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work!
As a business manager this will help me bringing everything to a new level, just amazing stuff!!!

  • Warren

    Hi Stephanie
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know you saved your mother and you will save a lot other people too. As a former semi-pro rugby player I believe a lot of my injuries were from what I was eating. My adrenal glands were so fatigued that I was running on pure sugar to get through the game and I certainly wouldn’t have recovered properly before the next game. My body is presently riddled with inflammation.
Now 44 with a leaky gut due to a bad muscle building diet. I have been on the keto diet for a week and have gone through some horrors which was to be expected. I say bring it on as it will reinforce myself not to go back to my wicked ways.
I know we can workout on the keto diet but can we workout while adapting to keto or would it cause too much cortisol as the body is already under enough stress through the adaptation?
    Cheers, Warren

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Warren

Thank you so much for the beautiful comment and great question!

Yes I actually encourage people to workout while keto adapting. It’s very important to take breaks in intensity to keep cortisol at bay 🙂

      Hi Sandy

You have six salivary glands located throughout your mouth that are stimulated to produce and release saliva whenever you chew. Producing a steady stream of saliva for chewing gum is a waste of energy and resources that could otherwise be used for essential metabolic activities.

    Hi Stephanie,

I’m a vegetarian. I use eggs as my primary source of protein. Are there any other vegetarian friendly proteins I could/should be using? Also, you say yes to organic cheese, but no to cheese in the FAQ. What are your thoughts on cheese? Thank you for your wealth of knowledge and experience! My body is telling me this is the diet it wants after trying SEVERAL. Thanks in advance!

  • Nikki Milne

    Hi,

You say no cheese but organic cheese is on the fat foods list? I have been doing keto since January but I am finding it hard to keep my ketone levels up, I would like to try your recommendations of no caffeine etc to see how I get on. I am a type 1 diabetic and I have an under-active thyroid. I have had amazing results with my blood glucose and cholesterol levels.

    • Ruby Rodriguez

      Hi Niki

I’m also a type 1 diabetic and new to the keto lifestyle..what does your daily dietary look like?

      • Stephanie Person Post author

I can’t answer for Niki but you would keep your ket fats quite high and slowly lower your starches and you use your glucometer to check your ketones from getting to high

      Hi Susy

Eggs, bacon, salmon, grass fed beef, chicken drums sticks, coconut oil, lard, butter/ghee, olive oil, avocado & oil, coconut milk, olives, chia seeds, flax meal

Stephanie–awesome videos! I just read the story about your mother and it was very inspiring.

Your diet plan looks great, but you don’t talk about how many calories much.

You do 15 carbs a day, but did you work on a caloric deficit in the beginning and then move to a caloric maintenance level?

Do calories matter to you? Will too many still add weight? Thanks!

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Eric

Calories do not matter on keto. It’s the quality of your metabolism and stress levels that will be indicative of what happens to your body in the first stage of your keto adaptation

      Cheers S

      • Steven Monge

        Steph:

While I wait for my meal plan I’ve started keto based on your youTube advice. I (somewhat) arbitrarily set my max calories at 2k/day (cuz that’s where FitnessPal led me) but I’ve been following the 80/15/5 outline.
From your comments in here I understand no calorie count is necessary, just follow 80/15/5. Have I got that right?

        Thanks,

        Steven M.

  • Thelma

Hi, let me introduce myself, I am black deaf female, single, and no children. I would like to try Keto…I heard a lot about it, but it is strict diet, that is true? I want to lose 20lbs due my muffin top(waist) is still stubborn even I have been workout for a long time…and I do eat healthy food. My schedule is crazy since it was changed that was not the same before :-/ so I will follow the begining step by step. I will try my best.

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Thelma

yes ma’am my keto way of adapting is quite strict. But only in the beginning of keto adaptation. It also takes time to get your body to get in balance by excepting the ketones and letting go of your bodies precious addiction “carbs”
People always expect weight loss in the beginning. It often does not end up that way. You have to reach the second level of reaching a highly adapted keto state to start intermittent fasting to burn body fat.

      Cheers S

    Hi Stephanie
Question….I am currently taking antibiotics to treat chronic lyme disease and
hopefully soon will be completely off all of them. I have been in ketosis for around
3 weeks only to stop because I was ill (due to reactive hypoglycemia?) I had all the symptoms anyway. I would like to hire you for counsel but ,should I wait a period of time
to heal gut issues, ect without you or is that something you can greatly help me with?
I loved burning ketones and feeling the way I did in ketosis but had some issues….

    Kathy

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hey Kathy

I have a graduation nutrition program to help people get into ketosis who have thyroid disorder. The protocol is quite thyroid safe and actually helps improve your stress “cortisol” and metabolic disorder. So, heck yea.. of course I can help you

It’s time for the business !
Nah, this lonely comic geek weighing in at a whopping 245 an some change in is need of your help.
I am trying to get a good coach for this diet , an your wham bam thank you Mame has got me pumped.
I have bought all the proper meats , but how much an so forth still eludes me .
Example , I ate 2 whole eggs fried in 1 tbs of real butter an 4 slices of bacon an one hand full of leafy greens. I still felt pretty hungry so i had 1 oz of Mexican blend cheese. an I on track to getting on the keto boat? HELP …. an loss of carbs has really hit the home girl at work, i work on my feet all day walking no stop 8 hours what kind of meals should i be aiming for to change this wobbly frame into a MACHINE! much love an avid fan

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hey Brittney

Great that you are trying to get your macros right on your own!

      Love you energy BTW!!!

Ok, you might want to schedule a consultation. I just need a lot more information to understand why you are so hungry. I would need to know your entire schedule and metabolic issues to come up with a individualize strategy!

Your hunger signal could also be coming from low leptin or leptin resistance. Also not enough fat might be a factor in high hunger.

      Cheers S

      • Brittney

Thanks I’ll make that a top priority in November , Prepare for my odd ball ness you can hang. Looking forward to it … SO.. so ready to change this life into something as good on the outside as I feel on the inside.. PUMPED!!!!

    Hi Stephanie,
I got inspired by your youtube videos of me to diet, I’m an indian and over here every items for a me to adapt meal is expensive. I was not intending tell about all these expensive shit n all.
I would like to know if I can add red kidney bean in my every meal.

And also add simple cooking in your youtube videos.
And thank you for uploading so much youtube videos n for inspiring me.

  • Stefan

    Hi Stephanie,
I’m 22 and I’m moderately obese as shown by my B.M.I. I would like to to know as I am a beginner as it’s only just 1 week that I’m following with all meat(beef, pork, chicken), fish, lot of butter, lot of ghee, kidney beans (every meal), 3 eggs a day .

And I would like to know as I’m a beginner can I eat too much fat. I am worried, please need help. As I had done Low carb diet many times and I was getting hungry and it ended up in a failure every time.

But after doing keto diet as I think I’m, I’m not getting much hungry. And I do weight training every alternate days n HIIT every weekdays.

I advise me if I’m doing right or not.
    Thank you in advance.

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Stephan

There are a few reasons why you are finding yourself more hungry. Number one those kidney beans are spiking your blood glucose. Sugar reentering the body is turning on the need to story glycogen “sugar” again. Cut out the beans and add a lot more fat to each meal

      Cheers S

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Stephan

I have no idea what your macros numbers are for example how much protein per meal. I can say that you can not eat kidney beans. You can not keto adapt on starches.. Also there is no limit to your fat!

      S

      • Stephanie Person Post author

        Hi Stephan

There is no limit to your fat. I would start with 150 grams per day and add more if you find yourself still hungry.

The protein per meal is dependent on your gender, age, fitness level and height

        Cheers S

I once thought that the Atkin’s Diet was the answer, but it’s too unhealthy. Then I switched to Paleo, but it was difficult to lose weight because of too much sugar in fruits. Then I discovered Keto where the pounds and inches are finally coming off. It’s all making sense now. Thanks for your motivating videos Stephanie.

  • Dianna

    Hi Stephanie,

am needing to lose approximately 30+ kilos and feel that ketosis is the way to go…I have a spare tiyre around my middle and it is very stubborn and is proving difficult to budge… am showing some ketones on my ketosticks after 8 days..i know not long will continue, but am starting to suffer from indigestion any thoughts?? how long does it usually take before weight loss starts?

thank you I think this is fabulous..

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hey Dianna

First urine strips are not very accurate. I suggest getting a Precision Xtra glucometer that measure glucose and ketones. Blood numbers are much more accurate. Also You might have low Hcl levels in your stomach if you are having digestion issues. Google bateine Hcl for a potential support.

      Cheers S

  • Matthew Molchan

I just found your videos on YouTube, great energy. I was reading the choose more to lose more book by Chris Powell, been doing the turbo cycle 2 low card one high carb, your method seems to make a lot more sense. I have tried a lot of diets, I am disciplined but seem to always fall off the wagon and gain the weight back. I was a Vegan on and off for 3 years, also tried Atkins, Dukan Diet. Are there any good books or articles you suggest for a beginner. I’ll give the 15 gm of carbs a day a try. I was also doing a lot of whey shakes and usually feel like crap after drinking them, seems like there is something in there my body doesn’t agree with. When is it a good time to start working out, energy level is a bit low right now and I just saw your video on MCT oil, so I’ll give that a whirl.

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Matthew

It is very important to keep your protein under 100g and very moderate according to your height and fitness level. Also you might need to up your fat. And lastly Whey shakes can raise blood glucose making it very difficult to keto adapt. I would try a Pastured raw egg shake make with coconut milk from a can, mct oil, spices

      Cheers S

    Hi Stephanie.

Im 27. Approximately 260 lbs. 6’0″. Ive been on keto for 7 days now. But I must say that I would consider myself “metabolically deranged” and am considered prediabetic. and this is the first time I’m ever trying a diet to reduce carbs. I’ve seen your videos about eating greens to help with digestion.

I can say im good on fat. I eat ribeye, chicken thigh, eggs, ground beef. What can I do to help with digestion and increase metabolism? Is decaf coffee ok? Do you encourage multivitamin supplements?

  • Sam

    Hi Stephanie,

I stumbled across your youtube videos and im totally addicted. You have so much energy which is addictive and are so knowledgable!! Im so glad i found you!

Im a 36 year old female 5 ft 1 and am sitting at 28% BF. I have lost weight since starting a paleo lifestyle where i eat 80g cooked protein, 1tbs fat in every meal(the ones you approve of) and leafy greens. I eat 50g of sweet potato (weighed cooked) with my last meal. I have 3 meals per day. If i get hungry inbetween meals I might snack on raw veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber).

Im getting frustrated as i not seeing the results i had hoped for. It seems i’ve plateaued and im not sure why. I supplement with fish oil (practitioner brand). I have been tested and are estrogen dominant and extremely high levels of cortisol throughout the day (working progress).

    Could you shed some light!!

Keep up your awesome work. You are inspirational! Thankyou

    • Erin

Hello, I just thought I would put in my 2c, Sam! I’m new to it, but I used to low carb about 10 years ago and lost 70 pounds (and gained it alllll back plus 10, so yeah I am rebooting.

Anywho, I would wager it has a LOT to do with those sweet potatoes and the carrots. They are very high in sugars. For snacking, maybe try bone broth, hard boiled eggs, or coconut oil stirred into some caffeine free tea.

  • Shaylee

    Hey Steph,
So I been watching and learnin for about 3 days now. I have Crohns which many think is leaky gut but thats only a portion to the problem. I also have been reading medical journals about Keto for Cancer which I also have (colon)…. any resources or experience for this? Im celiac so this totally works and I also cant do dairy and pork so the fact everything is interchangeable is so manageable for me granted theres facts to back everything up.
    Thanks!

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Shaylee

it’s amazing you found keto for your Crohns. Give yourself time to develop and use ketones. In time once you are adapted your digestive inflammation should go down exponentially.

      Thank you!

I am really motivated to get clean and healthy and fit and I would really like to start a ketogenic lifestyle, but we also would like to have more kids and I wanted to know if it’s possible and/or safe to do this if we are trying to get pregnant?

  • Amy

    Hi Stephanie,
I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos! I have been encouraged, inspired and most of all educated. After years of diets, rounds of hcg, hair loss, thyroid issues etc. I have found my road back to recovery with keto. I’ve been doing keto for four months. Feeling much better. Not losing weight yet, still trying to learn and not stress out about immediate results. I’m just so excited my weight has stabalized which in itself is an accomplishment. Ok. So my question is….I got a free keotone blood meter with no strips. Went with a Keotonix Sport when I heard they work very similiarly. Have you had any expeience with it yet. In comparison…what are your thoughts?

  • Joshua

    Hello Stephanie,
I started KETO, and am entering my 2nd week. This was what I decided to do after reading Gary Taubes book called Why We Get Fat, Protein Power by Dr.Michael Eades, a low carb advocate, and a video by Dave Palumbo on the Keto Diet which is on YouTube. Then, I watched a video called FAT HEAD which is also on YouTube, which talked about the same problems with carbs in a diet, so I was convinced. I just found your videos today linked through a few others.. I noticed a few things, and my wife did too.

Would having the metallic taste in your mouth and urinating a lot indicate I have hit the Ketogenic mark? Because I have both symptoms. I am asking because I do have some berries in small amounts, as well as the cruciferous veggies, as well as coffee, and havent had an issue. I am not new to weights and working out, but I notice now I am getting stronger, but lower in reps. Thanks in advance for your input. – Joshua

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Joshua

No, urine and breath ketones are NOT an indication of being keto adapted. It is basically the first stage of making ketones but most likely not using them as highly adapted ketones

  • Stephanie Fournier

    Hey Steph!!

I’ve been eating ketogenic for roughly 3 or 4 weeks now. I seem to be still struggling through the keto flu, and haven’t yet reached that morning where I’m just overcome with energy (which I’m really looking forward too because I’ve been so lethargic)…but like you’d say I digress

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Stephanie

Looks like you might have some damage to fix as well as stress to overcome. I believe your glucose is to high to benefit from the ketones you may producing. This create so so energy!

      S

  • Stace

    Hey Stephanie,

Wow, great stufff! so just curious, based on those points you outlined on how you adapted to a ketogenic diet (15g carbs, MCT oil, fats, etc), what did a typical day of foods look for you?

    • Stephanie Person Post author

Stace I am different than most people being highly adapted so my macros with be different to most. I eat free range chicken drumsticks and thighs, grass fed beef, pastured eggs for my protein. Low glycemic veggies for my 15-20 grams daily carbs and fats such as: bone broth, grass fed butter, avocados, olive, coconut everything

      Cheers S

  • Ruby Rodriguez

    Hi Stephanie

I am very interested into turning my nutritional lifestyle ketogenic and have read many articles regarding it yet feel overwhelmed with the information…as a newbie how do I start?

  • Desiree

    Hi,

Just started doing research on a Ketogenic diet. I am training for my first powerlifting meet but recently – from a creatine experiment not working the way it should have – i gained an extra 10lbs and want it off for my weight class. Can I start keto-adapting and still gain strength while training for my competition in less than 3 months?

    thanks for your thoughts!

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Desiree

That is a sensitive question. Of course you can powerlift, gain muscle and burn fat when you do everything correctly on keto. The problem is most people only do about 60% of what they should be doing to keto adapt. With the wrong things done people tend to stay in this middle zone where the produce ketones but don’t us that much of them being that they are still creating sugar via stress. When you get stress and inflammation down, yes you can highly keto adapt.

      Cheers S

  • Stefanie

    Hi Stephanie!
I found your videos by chance on youtube and was hooked I haven’t watched them all yet, but I will. I’m hooked on your outlook on life and your energy is amazing. I can’t wait to get that energy!

I am even more intrigued after reading about your mother. That is truly amazing and she is so lucky to have you as her daughter! I just lost my daughter in August to a brain tumor she was just 10 months old. Although this diet could not have helped her I hope to better myself and keep my family healthy!

Thank you for all your videos! Your passion for this lifestyle is addicting!

  • Helen

    Hi
    I just love your energy!
The first few months before I started keto I was on a zero sugar and no hfcs because
I saw that video the bitter truth from Dr. Lustig and I was feeling great but I was thinking how can I make this for further and make this a life time plan then I saw your videos you mentioned the book keto clearity and that has been doing now since Nov 14 th of 2014 seen then I lost 14 lbs and 7 in so far I was 189 now I weigh 175 I just couldn’t do this on any other plan….
    So Thank You,
    Helen

  • Debra

I started April 24, 2014 doing “Ideal Protein” it was to expensive, not that I’m not worth it. Switched to Low Carb and recently purchased “Keto Clarity” and thinking I need to learn as much as I can.

Doing a search, I found you. I have gone from 342 to 290 – I do as much exercise as I can with Spinal Stenosis, but not as much as I should. I wear a fitbit force to help motivate me. I need to give up those little bites I sometimes take and get seriously Ketogenic.

What one piece of advice would you give a 61 year old morbidly obese female, that has Hypothyroidism, most likely from years of losing large amounts and yo-yoing back?

I need to lose the biggest part of me, and work with what is left. 🙂

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Debra

people yo yo by dieting and not trying to get down low grade inflammation down first. Another reason why keto adaptation is a processes is because you most be strict the first 3 months of their keto adaptation. A broken metabolism from stress, poor sleep and nutrition is what got your weight up. It takes time and consistency to achieve ketosis without yo yo-ing. I suggest to keep learning more about The ketogenic diet benefits and how to do it 🙂

    Hi Stephanie,

thanks for the motivating video’s, i hope there are a lot more to come ! 😉

i’m just finding out about keto and am reading what i can find.
when i read you answers here above i don’t know if my lifestyle can be fitted for keto; i have a very busy and stresfull job … any suggestions ?

in your allowed meatsection i miss lamb/sheep. are those not good ?

    may thanks !

  • rik

    stephanie,

i’ve read you like fermented vegetables.
is it ok to enjoy fermented carrots or beets?
in the salting & fermetation process they lose the sugars i’ve been told.

    thanks!

  • Jason

    Stephanie,

Thanks so much for what you do. Some questions:

    – decaf coffee/green tea ok if organic?
    – best cuts of meat for high fat you eat?
    – Are some percentage of cals in fat bombs ok so long as theyre things you approve (coconut oil, organic cacao, avocado, stevia, macadamia nuts, etc)?

    Thanks again, keto on!

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Jason

      ANSWERS!

No decaf coffee. They use harsh chemicals to extract the caffeine from coffee and green teas.

Meats: grass fed beef, egg yolks, fatty fish, chicken wings, drumsticks, thigh, bone broth etc..

Fat Bombs: no cacao, or macadamia nuts. Just use butter, ceylon stevia, sprinkle of himalayan salt , vanilla and coconut oil

      Cheers S

  • Sam

Even though I have been following “Keto” for 15 months, you have motivated me to give up caffeine, nuts and dairy. “I will do whatever it takes.”

  • Abilene

Hi Stephanie, So my family has an overweight problem except for me cause i try and avoid carbs all together .im 17 and wondering if its is possible for me to go into Ketosis? its my second day of eating only 20g carbs and about 100g fats .Feeling very tired thanks for your videos !

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hi Abilene

      I know I’m responding late!

If you are still having problems adapting I suggest raising your fats up to 200 grams and protein under 70 grams

  • Adrienne

    Hi Stephanie,

I’ve watched many of your videos and gathered lots of info from the sources you’ve made available (thanks a bunch!) I noticed that you mention that on the ketogenic diet you cannot drink coffee. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the Bulletproof diet but it actually encourages “bulletproof” coffee (with 2 tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of MCT oil). I really love my morning cup of Joe but I’m super confused about the whole coffee issue and was hoping you could clarify. Thanks in advance!

    • Stephanie Person Post author

      Hey Adrienne

Bullet proof coffee is money making gimmick. Coffee is highly addictive, it is a stimulant, diuretic and appetite suppressant Perfect in tricking people into thinking they are in ketosis when they are not. By adding butter to it people lose their hunger. I’ve made a few videos explaining how coffee over stresses your adrenals out amongst a lot of other issues with your health when comsuming it daily

  • Libby Moore

    Hi Stephanie!

I’m learning so much from your videos! I take pages of notes and sound so intelligent when I tell people…”Hey, what you’re eating right there is causing blood sugar dysregulation which is causing advance glacation end products which causes your telomeres to fray which causes aging and disease”! LOL! You definitely have the heart of a teacher and it screams loud! Thanks for investing your time to educate others in such a down to earth way!

    Go Keto!

Hi Stephanie, I’ve been doing Keto since Jan 4th and have had success in losing body fat. My question is what should my ketone (blood) readings be? And how long do I have to be in that range continuously to know I am adapt?

    Stephanie,

I am obese, so if I am eating high fat how will my body know to burn the stored fat instead of the high fat that I m eating?

      Hi Carol

This is a tough one to explain via my website comment section. When you first drop down your carbs to 20 grams your body typically resists the process to burn ketones. To get your brain to go from it’s crack addicted carb burning to fat burning your must eat A LOT of fat. At the same time you have live a clean life as well as try to heal your gut, adrenals, thyroid, liver in hopes of making ketones as well as using them. Keto goes in stages. Eat fat, create ketone signaling and burn fat. Once your brain becomes addicted to ketones then you can drop the fat to access your body fat. It can take up to 1 year for this to happen. It all depends on your health quality and discipline.

    Hi Coach!

I am on Keto Diet with your tips for two months. My period disappeared two months before my keto-lifestyle… because of paleo diet.

Besides I feel much pumped, I have energy to workout, my belly is flat -I am still feeling like usually 2-3days before period – one word: sometimes I feel PUFFY (it’s for 4months so it’s sucks) and sometimes I loose my motivation to follow my schedule (bodylifting, keto diet). My fat %: 16.3 it is not too low so why this period has gone;/ Now even when I feel better I cannot see a big changes in my body after 2 months… do you have any tips how to manage with this situation. I will really appreciate your help!!

many things can make your period go away, like pregnenolone steal “stress”. Adrenal overload and birth control pills. There could be many reasons why!

Hi Stephanie, I have watched so many of your videos and I want to say thank you. You are wonderful! Your energy and enthusiasm are contagious. You are inspiring. I have been doing a Ketogenic diet for 3 months and love not being a slave to carbs. I feel like I have so much more control over my hunger and cravings. Although my weight loss has been rather slow, I would keep doing a Ketogenic diet for this reason alone. My body is changing in a good way and my joints don’t ache anymore. Thanks for sharing all that you have learned. Keep rocking “the business”!

      Hi Krona

avocado are approved all day everyday and as many as you want. The high amounts of fat and fiber slow down the rate at which the carbohydrate hits the blood. So go for it 🙂

Have binge watched a gazillion of your videos and am so excited to have the ketogenic way of eating change my life. Your positivity and enthusiasm is contagious! Question, are there any spices or seasonings that should be avoided. Was thinking about turmeric in coconut milk to help me wean off of coffee….?

    • Stephanie Person Post author

DLPA or tyrosine is great to wean off coffee. Most spices are fine if you have no histamine issues. Just try to avoid, sugar alcohols, sugar in spices and maltotextrin

I’ve been on the Keto Diet for three weeks and I haven’t lost any thing. Should i take MCT Oil three times a day? and I have my fats in the morning with my eggs and bacon, greens for lunch and fatty meats with greens for dinner do you think that’s a good plan?

    Thanks Terri

    Hi S-

I stumbled across you because I use the Johanna Budwig Recipe regularly. It is mostly Fat (besides a very small amount of dark berries) and 100% grassfed organic:. It has helped my health incredibly and I was just wondering your thoughts are on this Recipe. The macronutrients of Oil/CC would be about 80/15/5 when you add the flax seeds/ hemp hearts. Her science revealed fats turning water soluble and able oxygenate cells. Thank you!

      Hey Kathy

not sure what to say. I don’t know if you were on when eating dark berries? Also hemp and flax oil are not the number fats of importance of keto. Animal fat has the proper fatty acid profiles to keto adapt 🙂
